Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Volcano Watch Review

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Volcano Watch Review

This watch is not done justice in photos. I received the watch brand new and factory sealed. To begin the packaging of this item is perfect. The watch came sealed in plastic and every piece of the watch is covered in a laminate plastic that needs to be peeled off

So for all my watch fans out there I have a new obsession to introduce – AP Watch. I’ve been eyeing this piece for quite a while and I finally got a hold of one. This to me is the one and only luxury sport watch, which all watch collectors should own. It’s an iconic piece that comes in many variations. The one I got a hold of is a more youthful, sporty version. With no further delay the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Volcano. The watch is the orange-black version of the AP ROO family. It features a black waffle dial, the numbers and hands accented in a popping orange. The horn back strap is accented with matching orange stitching. The bezel is brushed on top with the sides being polished.

Casio Men’s Watch Review. Model EF550PB-1A

Casio Men’s Watch Review. Model EF550PB-1A

Welcome back to The Watch Scene! We’ve been away for a little bit, compiling a list of the highest quality luxury watches so that we will have a full body of content to provide you with far into the future. Today’s featured watch is the perfect piece to get us back in the groove – the Casio Edifice Chronograph Watch.

Have a quick look at our hi-res images of this watch before you go any further. What strikes you about it? For one thing, it isn’t exactly a “classic style” Casio – it’s not digital! Casio have been the leading manufacturer of digital watches for decades, but their technological muscle has rarely been felt in the arena of traditional men’s luxury watches to date.

This watch bucks that trend, obviously. Of course Casio have made analog watches before – and damn good ones at that – but usually they can’t resist the temptation to include a mini liquid crystal display in there somewhere. But this one is old school – it’s all about the tachometer-style dials here.

Cartier Mens Tank Francaise Stainless Steel Watch Review

Cartier Mens Tank Francaise Stainless Steel Watch Review

Ok, we admit it – a Cartier watch review is long overdue here at The Watch Scene. We are all about luxury watches, and we rattle on about Swiss watch brands like Breitling and Rolex all the time, so why haven’t we gotten around to reviewing a Cartier yet, a company who are arguably more famous than the former and just as prestigious as the latter?

Frankly, we don’t know. Saving the best until last perhaps? Well, we’ll see about that today when we take a look at our first Cartier – the Cartier Tank Francaise. Sounds exotically European, hopefully its looks live up to its name.

And they do. This may be a stainless steel watch, but this is stainless steel done right. It glistens on the wrist like white gold, and the chunky links just serve to add to its weighty – but not awkward or bulky – appearance.

When you hear that a watch has the word ‘tank’ in it’s name, especially a classy Cartier, you (or at least we) immediately think “that surely doesn’t have anything to do with actual army tanks, it must stand for something else”. Well, surprisingly enough you’d be wrong to think that.

Blancpain ultra slim automatic mens watch review

Blancpain ultra slim automatic mens watch review

Today we are finally getting around to reviewing Blancpain luxury watches – well, one in particular: the Blancpain Ultra Slim Automatic. We are really going back to basics with this one, having gone a little wild last time out with the Hublot Big Bang.

Blanpain watches are renowned the world over for their style and class. Like almost all of the top brands, they are a Swiss watch company, based in the town of Villeret. But, amazingly, Blanpain predates its competitors by a long shot, having been established way back in 1735!

These watches really are history in the making. Today they are owned by another watchmaking icon, Swatch, but they haven’t lost any of their traditional flare.

In comparison to a large watch maker like Rolex, which makes about 2,000 watches a day, Blancpain produces fewer than 10,000 watches a year. Each watch is made by a single watchmaker. That goes to show you the amount of attention to detail these pieces get.

The Blancpain Ultra Slim Automatic is a beautiful watch, simply put. It features a rich brown leather crocodile strap which is accompanied to perfection by a rose gold toned stainless steel case. It looks positively regal.

Hublot Big Bang All Black Carat Mens Watch Review

Hublot Big Bang All Black Carat Mens Watch Review

We’re kicking the luxury up a notch today and at the same time introducing a new watch brand to The Watch Scene family. That’s right, it’s about time we got around to reviewing Hublot watches, they being one of the finest Swiss watchmakers of the modern generation.

Today we will be looking at the out-of-this-world-looking Hublot Big Bang All Black Watch. This watch is like nothing you’ve ever seen before, and we must say like nothing we’ve ever reviewed before either. We’ll get back to it very soon, but first a quick word about Hublot watches in general.

Hublot is a veritable baby when it comes to Swiss watch companies – it was set up just over 30 years ago in 1980. But in that relatively short space of time the company has gone on to become one of the leading lights in the game. Let’s see how and why that happened.

Carlo Crocco was known for creating the first natural rubber strap in the history of watchmaking back in the 1970s. It took 3 years of research to create the strap. Despite failing to attract a single potential customer on the first day of its debut at the 1980 Basel Watch Fair, it quickly proved to be a commercial success with sales in excess of $2m in its first year.
